The University of Alabama’s Paul W. Bryant Museum showed that there is a downside to having a successful athletics program. Where do you put all the trophies?
“So Many Trophies, So Little Space” was created last year in celebration of the university’s second national championship in 3 years.
In this cheeky ad for the university’s football program, there are so many trophies that no one knows what to do with them (or how to get around them).
Alabama student Jack Blankenship, the man behind “The Face” (see above) that became famous at the school’s basketball games, also made a welcome appearance.
Check out the video below:
While the video was produced to get a laugh, Alabama’s dominance in college football is not a joke. With another championship under their belt since the video was made, there seems to be no end in sight for Alabama’s storage troubles.
The University of Alabama’s football team just won its third national championship in 4 years on Monday. Which means there’s another one of “The Coaches Trophy” to display.
The University of Alabama routed the University of Notre Dame 42-14 in the 2013 BCS National Championship game. Head coach Nick Saban has reignited a dynasty and it seems to be just warming up.
Coach Saban has been well-rewarded for his role in leading the University of Alabama back to sheer dominance in college football. $5.5 million dollars per year aside, Coach Saban received an additional $200,000 for winning the BCS National Championship.
When considering that with the bonuses for winning the SEC championship game and earning a spot in the national championship game, Saban earned $525,000 for post-season play.
Bonuses, for amounts that have yet to be decided, are also do for his team’s academic performance and coaches of the year awards.
All in all, it’s safe to say that winning definitely has its benefits.
